I like parties, but I don’t like the clean-up, so I’m pretty excited about this upcoming shindig: the More Than Mommies Mixer. My new gal pal Christine at More Than Mommmies and her partner in crime, Janene, are hosting a blog hop and you’re all invited!! Until this morning, when Christine was kind enough to sit me down at her kitchen table and talk real slow about what a blog hop is, I was clueless. Allow me: it’s a way for those of us in the blogosphere to join forces and support one another in our writing endeavors. The really cool part is that we can link to and follow each other, and hopefully increase our readership. Think of it as going door-to-door and introducing yourself to your neighbors: “Hi! I’m Steph and I’d like to be your friend!” Only you don’t have to wear make-up or brush your teeth to make a good impression at this Mixer.

I’m fairly new to the whole blogging world, but I will say this: when I was pregnant for the first time, I found an online community of other expectant moms and that kind of support system grew to mean so much to me. We could ask questions, share concerns, compare pictures of our cankles. Suffice it to say, it was fun and a great way to meet new people. And contrary to what my own mother says about the Internet, it is NOT the devil and it CAN bring good people, not just perverts, together.
