Happy 1-Year Blogiversary to Meeeeee!!!

Happy Friday, party people!

I woke up in an exceptionally good mood today because, well, it’s Friday AND because I’m reintroducing coffee back into my diet after almost a week hiatus. The flu may have had me down, but I’m up again, people, and I plan to reclaim my status as a fully functioning caffeine addict by week’s end.

<Insert battle cry here>

Oh, and did I mention that today marks a year since I gave birth to WhenCrazyMeetsExhaustion?! I don’t think I’ve ever maintained something for a solid 365 days, including my kids (thank the good Lord for Grandparents), and I am beyond grateful to all of you who have been a part of my journey. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for reading, commenting, following, supporting, tweeting, pinning, liking, talking about, and sharing my crazy. I started writing as a means of catharsis and then came to know other bloggers, and soon felt like I was part of this little community that serves no other purpose than to make its members smile. I’m hooked.

Or send wine. Lots and lots of wine.

Or send wine. Lots and lots of wine.

The fantastic Janene and Christine at More Than Mommies trusted me to co-host their More Than Mommies Mixer. I can’t tell you what it meant to participate in something that would actually force them to admit they know me. I feel all warm and fuzzy every time I think about it.

The amazing Anka welcomed me to guest blog for her, as did the marvelous Meredith, and neither of these lovely ladies minded my affinity for alliteration.

Anita and I are kindred spirits who enjoy the small things in life, mostly our kids and 4-letter curse words, and when we partnered with Anka to make Mondays a more positive experience à la Project Optimism, I felt the universe shift in our favor. Disclaimer: we do not take responsibility for global warming; our shift was more of the philosophical kind.

I’ve got a lot of great stuff up my sleeve (Scary Mommy guest spot anyone?! YES PLEASE!) in this second sensational year, and I hope that you’ll stay by my side through it all. Especially because I’ll soon be parting ways with WordPress and I’m afraid I may lose those of you who follow by way of the dreaded Reader. Side note: I loathe the READER. I really, really do.

Anyway, I’ll let ya know when to expect The Change, and then I’ll shamelessly beg you to come with me. Until then, thank you dear readers, for making my days happier. Now if you’ll excuse me, my daughter is trying to brush the dog’s teeth with her toothbrush. Again.

  1. A few things…
    1) You’re posting on your blog when you were supposed to pick me up!!!!!
2)Feel free to throw UNCLES in there with grandparents at the beginning
3)You’re leaving WordPress? What’s that mean? What do I do now? I don’t know what the hell I’m doing? See what you’ve done? Do you see?
4)Perhaps this should have come first, but congratulations! I’m fairly new to this blogger thing but I can tell that you have one of the best and I’m very proud of you! I see how you capture your readers and bring them joy and amusement with your posts and you were the one who inspired me to do the same. Even though I’ve already run out of things to post about pertaining to my topic. Shit. WHERE ARE YOU?

  2. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy Happy Blogiversary. I’ll follow you anywhere (in a non-stalkerish and hopefully non-creepy way), you really cheer up my days 🙂
I’ll raise a glass to you tonight. But I’m not sharing.
And your brother (I assume above?) has it spot on with point 4 😀

    M x

    • I welcome your non-stalkerish following; in fact, I beg for it!

Yep–that’s my little brother. I see you both have good taste. 😉

Cheers and happy weekend to you. Thank you for reading and commenting, YOU cheer up my days!

  3. Happy Happy Blogiversary! I’m thrilled that we’ve connected. I couldn’t go a day without your humor and wit. Now, what’s this business about leaving WordPress? Are you guest hosting for Scarry Mommy? I will follow you wherever you go my dear! 🙂

    • You’re so sweet, Anka–thank you!

Yeah, I’m headed over to another host is all. Just wanted a little more creative freedom and, most of all, 24/7 support because I suck at the technology required to run a blog 🙂

I AM guesting posting (not hosting) for Scary Mommy!!! I’m putting the finishing touches on my post this weekend and I am so excited I could squeal!!!

      • I only recently heard about Scary Mommy. I clicked on the link you provided to check out the site. I’m always so busy keeping up with bloggers on WP that I rarely venture outside of this social circle. Looking forward to your guest post!

  4. Congrats!!! That’s kind of a big deal.

Love Project Optimism, as it led me to you.

What platform are you moving to? Is this the new cool thing? I JUST went through all the work of moving to wordpress – I can’t do it again! Btw, people can add you to their reader by copying and pasting your URL into their list, so don’t let them make any excuses.

  5. Congratulations on your one year anniversary. Just getting to know you from MTMMixer. Will follow on Twitter!!! Oh and let me know if you have trouble with the move to self-hosted. That’s what I do for a job 🙂

    • I’m constantly singing that happy birthday song so you’re not alone 😉 I didn’t know your 1-year mark was coming up, too!! We should have a virtual celebration! The move is happening within the week. I expect to have things majorly screwed up for the first month and then back to just normal screwed up for the remainder of the blog 😉

  6. Happy Blogiversary to you! Cheers to your health and the return to coffee! Looking forward to reading more of your stuff! -Fellow Bloppy member (and fellow Stephanie…)
