Okay, guys, it was bound to happen. With all of the germs flying around the universe, and half of them making themselves comfortable in my home, it was only a matter of time before I caught a few of them. And caught them I did.
I’ll spare you the details; just know that my husband really came through. When I crawled back into bed for the 28th time, reached for the man who was also having a restless night because he, too, is sick, I begged him, “Please don’t leave me today.” And you know what? He didn’t. It may have had something to do with my incessant groaning, I’m dyyyyyying…” but whatever, he stayed.
He got up with both kids, got them fed, dealt with Ella’s “MOMMMMMMMYYYYYYY!” tantrums for the first hour she was awake. He fielded phone calls, made arrangements for a grandparent to take our son to his YMCA sports class, and his bedside service was sweet. Although, I will look before I sip the next time; Pedialyte is for kids for a reason. GROSS. Hey, he tried.
I remember us saying the words, “For better or for worse. In sickness and in health,” almost 7 years ago, but I didn’t really need him to make good on that promise until today. To all of the mommies out there who are battling this horrendous flu season, may you stay well. And if you can’s stay well, at least find someone who will hold your hair back as you beg for imminent death while kneeling at your toilet.
Three cheers for wonderful husbands!!!
Feel better, mama!
I have been there. I don’t really want to go there again, but it’s always better when they take care of us. You have a husband who knows how to love you.
I hope you stay far, far away! Thanks for your kind words about the hubby!
My husband has been known to stay with me a few times, it’s been awhile though!
And also three cheers for wonderful wives who take care of us when we are sick!
You’re not too shabby, Ben!!!!!!!!!! 😉
Awww feel better!!!
Thank ya kindly! I think it’s starting to work its way out. We shall see!
Ok that’s good to hear. Sending you some healing sunshine *well technically it’s night time here* but it’s the thought that counts!
I’ll take it!!!! 🙂 It’s below 0 with the windchill here, so any mention of sunshine makes this girl happy 😉
Now THAT’s what I call true love!!!!
I didn’t get the opportunity to comment earlier. We’ve been at a family function ALL day. Hope you get better super FAST. As for that husband of yours, he deserves a special meal when the plague passes. Kielbasa anyone?
Thank you for making me smile today, Anka! It may have been the first one in almost 24-hours!!!! I think I’ll even throw in some of that nasty sauerkraut for him 😉
Ugh! I’m so sorry that you’ve been so sick, but like you said, if you have to be sick, I’m so glad you got such a great guy to get your back! Love your caption with the graphic 😉
Hope you feel better soon! “Hugs”
Thank you kindly! Today is better, but not “I can go in public and not expect to soil myself” better. I’m gross.
Wow! Your husband definitely deserves an award or a homemade chocolate cake! I’m pretty sure my husband would just nudge me in bed and say, “Hey, the kids are hungry” and would feel he was being helpful!
Ahaha! I guess each guy is helpful in his own way?? 🙂
So, so sorry you were sick, but glad you had someone to take care of you! One of my big fears is that I’ll get sick and no one will take care of me and I’ll end up one of those people in the hospital with the flu. Hope you’re feeling better now.
I was definitely freaking because I thought the man would have to work. I had no idea how I was supposed to be sick and take care of 2 kids. That’s what: Thank God for My Husband!!!
Stay well and out of the hospital!
Ugh, I’m so paranoid we’re going to catch something. I am anal about washing our hands when we get home, but that only gets you so far. Fingers crossed you are on the mend!
I’m using the mind over matter technique now. If I think myself healthy and puke-free, then I shall be or I will lose my ever loving God forsaken mind.
This makes me so happy! You picked a good one. 🙂
He’s not too shabby, I’ll give him that 😉
